General Info
We always aim to make Newbury Real Ale Festival a fun, friendly and safe event. We encourage families to come along and enjoy the weather and musical entertainment. There will be a Newbury Cricket Club match on the same day and they will appreciate the extra support!

Entry Cost

Entry is £10, which includes a free glass and two drink tokens. Tickets can be purchased at the door and there will be no entry for those without tickets. Please note that once we reach our maximum capacity we will not be in a postion to allow any more entries, even if others are leaving site. Purchasing in advance is the only guaranteed way of securing your place and comes with a bonus 3rd drink token per ticket. Once a ticket is purchased you are able to leave and re-enter the site as needed.

Drink Tokens

The festival runs on a drink token system, in order to speed up the process of serving drinks! With over 6000 people expected to attend and upwards of 30 bar staff at any one time, we don't want to hold you up by having to provide change. Please note that tokens are non-refundable (we are raising money for charity after all), so please buy wisely.

  • All Ale, Cider and Perry are 1 token each (half-pint)
  • Drink tokens are sold as 3 for £5

Opening/Closing Times

The Festival starts at midday and aims to run until 11pm. Music will stop at 10pm. Due to the cost and nature of providing real ales, we are unable to obtain an exhaustive supply of ale and cider. We have increased the quantities of both considerably again this year but if the event is a success then we will inevitably run out at some point during the evening. Therefore those who arrive later in the day should be prepared that the range on offer may be slightly reduced.

Can I bring my own food/drink? We offer a range of food options on the site but those who wish to bring a picnic/snacks may do so. No alcohol can be taken into the site.
Can I bring along my family? Yes, families are more than welcome. Obviously we can only sell alcohol to over 18s but there will be a tuck shop selling soft drinks and snacks
Is there any cost for under-18s? No
Are dogs allowed? Unfortunately last year we had a number of problems with dogs and given the busy nature of the site we will not be able to let dogs into the site this year.
Can I get tickets in advance? Yes, we are now able to offer tickets in advance - simply click the button at the top of this page to be redirected to our partners, Gigantic Tickets.
